Douglas; just a line to thank you and your workers for all the hard work and care that they put into the Oil Rag do on Sunday. You have showed me parts of Essex I did not even imagine existed before, having only seen the rougher end "down Southend" way and what can be seen form the road to Harwich. It was an eye opener, so thank you for that. Even the buffet lunch was good, well more than good. Our old Austin 12, chugged the 80 miles to the event start, and some of that was in the cold dark of the Sunday morning and then the return 80miles in the pouring rain (we even ended up staying over Sunday night in Essex). So now have a very dirty old car to wash, but that is for another day, work on Tuesday.Thank you once again. If anyone has any pic's of DT3956 would love to see them had a flat camera battery!Regards Tony Mealing Dip Arch RIBA AABC

Good morning
I thought it appropriate to offer my thanks to all at The Automobile concerned with organising and running last Sunday's Oily Rag Run for an excellent day's vintage motoring. My wife and I, joined by two friends, made a long weekend of it and drove down to Essex from the Forest of Dean on Saturday, staying B&B at a wonderful old pub for Saturday and Sunday nights and driving home yesterday. Sunday's route (the longer one) was superb and we much admired the lovely scenery and houses of north Essex. It was very interesting to see so many variants of relatively untouched vehicles and we met many pleasant like-minded people. The chance to visit P&A Woods premises, and the vintage aircraft workshops at Saffron Waldon, added greatly to what for us was an extremely enjoyable day. Well done!
Yours sincerely and with kind regards

Dear Douglas
RE 3rd Oily Rag Run – 'Woods'.
Many thanks for 'The Automobile's' fabulous day on the sunday, a really true enthusiasts day for people who like to use their cars.
We where lucky with the weather, but all the other aspects were down to hard work, the woods hospitality is legendary in this part of the world, David picked good routes, super buffet at the W+H and the aerodrome visit was a nice surprise.
We all made many new friends and 'roll on' the Oily Rage movement.
All is down to the enthusiasm of your magazine, your staff and of course – your good self – great to see your cars!
Well done
Yours Sincerely
Pete and Sandy Matthewman
Dear Mrs Clifton,
